I decided to repair my old laptop, a HASEE Z6-SL7D1, which had battery life issues but otherwise functional components. My goal was to repurpose it as a server to host a Minecraft server and manage my home network. To enhance its performance, I decided to upgrade its RAM. This process not only allowed me to give a new life to my aging laptop but also provided a cost-effective solution for my home server needs.

I documented every step of this repair and repurposing project and created a detailed guide on iFixit. This repair guide provides step-by-step instructions for fixing common issues with various electronic devices, specifically focusing on the HASEE Z6-SL7D1 in this instance. The guide includes detailed images and descriptions to help users safely and effectively perform similar repairs on their own devices.

The primary aim of this project is to empower individuals to extend the life of their devices and reduce electronic waste by providing accessible and easy-to-follow repair information. By sharing my experience and knowledge, I hope to inspire others to take on their own repair projects, repurpose old hardware, and contribute to a more sustainable approach to technology use.

This iFixit guide is part of my personal website, where I showcase various projects that reflect my interests and skills in information technology. As a student of Information Technology at York University, I am particularly interested in database systems and data analysis. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have a strong interest in assembling computers and have worked on multiple builds with my partner for our friends. I also enjoy modifying laptops, such as upgrading their RAM or storage, to improve their performance.
